Freezbone's Frozen Dog Toys Have Dog Parents Gushing

We let the people who use them every day do the talking.

Freezbone makes rubber toys you fill with food and freeze. Your dog licks it out slowly, often for 20 minutes or more.

We could talk about the natural rubber, the flat bases and the dishwasher. But dog parents say it better. Freezbone has 3,348 customer reviews on its US store, with an average of 4.9 stars. So we read them and sorted the ones that kept coming up.

Calmer dogs, quieter evenings

The number one thing owners mention: after a frozen fill, their dog settles down. Licking is slow and steady, and many dogs nap when they're done.

“Love that this took her 55 minutes to complete! It occupied her during a storm when she is normally a little anxious and she was tired when she finished it so she slept through the rest of the storm”Anthony V. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“We love these! The dogs focus so hard and relax after finished! They are weighted perfectly so the dogs cannot flip them over. Easy to clean as well and possibilities are endless on treat combos.”Jessica G. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“My recently adopted 40 lb. pittie mix loves her FreezSwirl. She just began heartworm treatment, so keeping her calm is very important, which is not easy with a young bully breed. The FreezBone products keep her occupied and mellow for at least 30 minutes at a time. And, they hold up extremely well to her chewing attempts. They're easy to fill and easy to clean, too. I highly recommend!” (Anna V.)

Quiet time while you work or head out

Work calls, dinner, the school run. Owners use a frozen toy to get 30 quiet minutes, or to make leaving the house feel like treat time.

“This is Syd enjoying his new Freezebone! I actually purchased 3 and all dogs have approved!! I filled it with yogurt and pumpkin. It’s been great to give them when I’m in a virtual meeting! They are quiet, focused and enjoying themselves!”Brooke W. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“My boy loves getting these as a treat when I leave for work. I soften some kibble in bone broth, freeze that, then whip together plain Greek yogurt and peanut butter and add that topped with a duck foot, or duck jerky and toss it back into the freezer. It entertains him for an hour or two.”Cassandra J. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“This is Honey. She’s an 8-month-old Golden puppy, and if you know anything about Goldens, you’ll know she’s a high-stage clinger. She’s what we call a “velcro baby.” She’s currently working on a mix of treats in that Freezball. We’re half an hour in and she’s got no intention of quitting anytime soon - which means we’re getting some space to get stuff done this evening. I love the Freezball and so does she!” (Sara A.)

Mealtime, slowed way down

Lots of owners skip the bowl and serve the whole meal frozen. A dinner that used to vanish in seconds now takes half an hour.

“Meal time has gone from 3 seconds to 30 minutes thanks to the Freezbone slow feeder! Indy absolutely loves it and I have more peace of mind.”Steffie H. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“My 2 black lab/rottie mix puppies (4 months old) LOVE Freezbone. I got the Stars (both colors) to make their lunches. My puppies eat every meal as if they were starved, so giving their lunch in the Freezbone Star slows them WAY down and gives me a chance to get things done, like vacuuming without them trying to destroy the vacuum. Definitely a game changer for us!”Christina G. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“Leroy (9 month old Lab)normally scarfs down his food in less than a minute, even with a slow feeder bowl. With the freezbone I add 3/4 cup of kibble and bone broth, freeze then feed. It takes him about 45 minutes to finish. It gives me a break, calms him down and he loves it!” (Patti O.)

Easy to fill, easy to wash

The toys are open on top and flat on the bottom. You spoon the food in, stand them up in the freezer, and put them in the dishwasher after.

“My girl is loving the freeze bone feeder toys! I purchased 4 to try out and will be adding more. She comes to work with me so we have lunch together. Her's are stuffed with homemade dog food (veterinary nutritionist created recipes) and treats like sardines, duck or chicken feet. We rotate about 12 different frozen toys. I love the flat bottom and ease of washing these! Other toys sometimes won't come clean even after running through the dishwasher. Freezebone is well designed!”Cherie B. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“It’s safe to say- we are obsessed! With foster pups in and out of my house all the time- and two VERY high energy pups of my own- I’m always looking for things to keep pups busy and content. These are a lifesaver! If all they did was keep my pups busy for 45 minutes (!) that would be enough- but they are also SO easy to clean, are flat on the bottom so they are easy to put in the freezer (no more balancing thing between the frozen peas and popsicles), and you can put absolutely anything in them!” (Summer G.)

“Love them. I bought three. Keep them filled and stacked in the freezer with yogurt container lids to separate. Love that they’re dishwasher safe and don’t smell like rubber. 6 mo old puppy but we need to get garden and yard work done, so these have saved our summer!” (Karin V.)

Big dogs and strong chewers

Freezbone makes thicker toys for big dogs and hard chewers, and owners of large breeds say they hold up.

“I have been using Freezebone for almost 2 years now. I got my Shepsky as a 7 week old puppy in 2024 and she HAD to have something to keep her busy and give her the mental enrichment she needed. AS YOU CAN SEE I have quite the collection. The newest Freeze Jumbo is the favorite! It holds 3 cups for my 120lb polar bear dog that needs to take a break from her guard duties sometimes haha. I absolutely LOVE FreezeBone products and this new one is perfect for my land cloud!” (Lauren O.)

“His kibble and bone broth froze great overnight. Kept my Great Dane busy for a solid hour! His teeth also didn’t ruin it in the first use, so that’s a win!! Love it!” (Tina S.)

“This is THE BEST!! We have tried every food holder, chew toy, etc. and my dog - a very aggressive chewer - eats the toys/devices every time with bite marks in the silicone and plastic. No chews last her long either and she has broken a tooth before chewing hard toys. This freezbone is big enough for her to fit her face in and keeps her busy - no eating of the toy!! It lasted her 25 mins the other day which is a miracle and great to keep her stimulated.” (Karli D.)

A fair warning, also from the reviews: no toy is indestructible. A few heavy chewers have bitten pieces off the thinner toys. If your dog chews hard, pick the thick ones (like the FreezBox or FreezJumbo), stay nearby, and take the toy away if it cracks.

Puppies, rescues and recovery days

Teething puppies, new rescues and dogs on crate rest after surgery come up again and again.

“The freezebones are working out perfectly for my foster puppy who is teething and had a limb amputated. The cold deliciousness inside helps soothe her teephers and distract from post surgery pain.”Patti M. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“Bought to keep my dog occupied during recovery after TPLO surgery. It worked absolutely fantastic. Loved this product so much I bought several more. Both dogs absolutely loved them and will beg at the freezer door!” (Terri H.)

Happy dogs all around

“Took my dogs 45 minutes and 90 minutes to work their way through their frozen treats, and they were so incredibly happy!! They both were so content and mellow after all that fun work, and they were both ready for naps!!”Therese D. · Verified Freezbone buyer

“Got these for my foster pup Ace and they are a huge hit! This one in particular actually lasts him 30 mins which is great!! He gets through everything else in about 10 but this one takes time and he has fun flipping it and rolling it around trying to get the bottom pieces out. It's quite cute to watch him too. Thanks freezbone! Will def order again!”Lindsay S. · Verified Freezbone buyer

  • Most owners in these reviews say 20 to 45 minutes. Big, fully frozen fills can last an hour or more. Colder, fuller fills last longer.

  • Anything soft or pourable that's safe for dogs: wet food, plain yogurt, pumpkin, mashed banana, bone broth with kibble, or xylitol-free peanut butter. Avoid grapes, onions, chocolate and anything with xylitol.

  • Yes. Freezbone toys are 100% natural rubber and can go in the dishwasher. Rinse them first if the filling is sticky.

  • Freezbone makes thicker toys, like the FreezBox and FreezJumbo, for strong chewers. Some owners of very hard chewers say thinner toys got bitten, so start with the thick ones and supervise.

  • No toy is indestructible, so Freezbone's guidance is to stay nearby, check the toy before each use, and take it away if it cracks or pieces go missing. For longer absences, a sitter or dog walker can hand it over.
