Cookie Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SpeedySep Inc. (“we”, “us”) and our partners use cookies and similar technologies on Daily Modern Pets (the “Services”). It forms part of our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include pixels (small pieces of code that send information to a server when a page loads), local storage, SDKs and device identifiers. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.
Cookies can be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by another company, such as an advertising partner). Some last only for your visit (session), others remain until they expire or you delete them (persistent).
2. How we use them
We group the technologies we use into two categories.
2.1 Strictly necessary
These are needed to make the site work, keep it secure and remember your privacy choices. They cannot be switched off, and they do not require consent.
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
dmp-consent |
Daily Modern Pets | Local storage (first-party) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies, or opted out of sharing | Until you clear your browser storage or change your choice |
| Hosting and security logs | Google Firebase Hosting | Server logs (no cookie) | Delivering pages, preventing abuse and keeping the site secure | Per provider retention, typically up to 12 months |
2.2 Advertising and measurement
These help us and our advertising partners measure the results of ads that bring readers to Daily Modern Pets, build audiences, limit repeated ads and show relevant ads, including ads for brands featured on the Services. They may track your activity across different websites and apps over time.
- In the UK and the EEA, these technologies only load after you click “Accept all”. If you click “Reject all”, or make no choice, they do not load.
- In the United States, they load by default unless you opt out, you have turned on Global Privacy Control, or you have already opted out. Their use may be a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or “targeted advertising”, under some state laws. You can opt out on Your Privacy Choices.
| Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Meta Pixel (fbevents.js) |
Meta Platforms, Inc. / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. | Pixel (third-party script) | Records page views, article views, scroll depth and clicks to brands’ stores, and sends them to Meta for ad measurement, optimization and targeting | Loaded on each page view |
_fbp |
Meta | First-party cookie | Identifies your browser for Meta advertising and measurement | 90 days |
_fbc |
Meta | First-party cookie | Stores the Meta ad click identifier (fbclid) when you arrive from a Meta ad |
90 days |
fr, datr and related |
Meta | Third-party cookies (facebook.com) | Ad delivery, measurement and security, if you use Meta products | Up to 90 days (fr), up to 2 years (datr) |
Meta may also receive information when you click links to our stories inside Facebook or Instagram, under Meta’s own policies, regardless of the settings on our site.
We do not currently use analytics cookies, session-recording tools, or social plug-ins that load third-party content without your action. Fonts are served from our own domain. If we add new technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
3. Links to brands’ stores
When you click a link to a brand’s store, we add campaign parameters to the web address (for example utm_source=dailymodernpets), and we pass along any advertising click identifier you arrived with. This lets the brand see that you came from us. The brand’s own cookie and privacy policies apply once you are on its site.
4. How to manage your choices
- On our site: use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page to change your choice at any time. In the United States, you can also use Your Privacy Choices.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising, and we do not load advertising technologies.
- Your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and local storage. Blocking all cookies may affect how some websites work.
- Meta: manage your ad preferences and “Activity off Meta technologies” in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
- Industry opt-outs: you can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org (United States) and youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
- Mobile devices: use your device settings to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising ID.
Opting out of interest-based advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads; the ads may simply be less relevant.
5. Changes and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time and will post the new version here with a new effective date. Questions: team@dailymodernpets.com.
